For more than 30 years Zanin F.lli has been building and selling coolers for all types of dryers.
This procedure increases the dryer's production and reduces energy consumption, exploiting the energy
contained in maize in the form of sensitive heat to remove two or three points of humidity by recovery effect.
Slow cooling is applied essentially to maize, even though it is very effective also in drying soybeans.
Any dryer can be equipped with slow drying, in which case it must be adjusted so that the product exits at 60° C with 17-18% humidity.

Known methods:
-Dryeration with the use of 2 cells;
-Dryeration with the use of 3 cells;
-Dryeration with the use of 5 cells.
The realisation of a Dryeration system must follow precise rules and not rely on a DIY system.
Anomalies can be found, such as loss of effectiveness of the procedure, alteration of the quality
of maize, cooling times, excessive electricity consumption, condensation forming on the inside of the cell.

Zanin F.lli adopts the SLOW CONTINUOUS COOLING system with a single cell, completely insulated, that works in depression.
A fan on the upper part of it takes in a small quantity of air that, entering from the base, crosses through the product
against the current. This procedure, which lasts from 5 to 6 hours, cools completely and at the same time favours the recovery effect.
Slow cooling systems can be made in a square, rectangular or circular cell.

Advantages of slow cooling:
-ECONOMIC: The drying tower increases production by 35%;
-ENERGETIC: The increase in drying yield is accompanied by a savings in electrical and thermal energy from 15 to 20%;
-TECHNICAL: Differently from forced cooling, slow cooling reduces thermal shock, therefore decreasing flaws in the specific gravity.
It also increases the protein value and stability in warehouse storage.
